Tools: Google Slides, Canva
Time in Development: 20 hours
My Role: Designer
Client: Lehigh University | Project STAY
Summary:
To ensure the success of Project STAY, mentors need a clear understanding of the program’s purpose, rationale, timeline, role expectations, and key components. An engaging eLearning module was proposed to equip mentors with the knowledge and confidence needed to support their mentees effectively.
Challenge:
The challenge was to create a comprehensive plan for an eLearning module that effectively communicates the purpose, rationale, and significance of Project STAY. Mentors also required detailed information about the program's timeline, their role expectations, and the key components designed to support mentee success. The ultimate goal was to ensure mentors feel confident and well-prepared to guide their mentees.
Solution:
A detailed storyboard, incorporating a mix of images, audio narration, and interactive elements.
The storyboard:
Clearly outlines the purpose, rationale, and significance of Project STAY.
Breaks down key components of the program and their role in supporting mentees.
Includes a timeline and mentor role expectations.
Features interactive knowledge checks, reflection prompts, and opportunities for participant engagement.
Incorporates an assessment to track participant understanding.
The storyboard is comprehensive, enabling an instructional designer to create the eLearning module with minimal additional input.
Result:
An instructional developer, even without prior knowledge of Project STAY, can confidently design the eLearning module based on the storyboard. This ensures alignment with the program’s objectives and equips mentors with the necessary tools and understanding to support mentee success.
